A few years ago, I had to write a poem for a writing class. While it isn’t the best, I thought I would share it.
I know that fall is on its way and summer will be leaving soon, but I found this today and wanted to share it. 🙂
“Summer’s Arrival”
Driving down the road at dusk
A breeze sweeps as all of nature beds down for sleep
The brown dog and his master walk by the farmer’s old corn husk
Grayness is fading from the land as green begins to seep
I look to my left as I pass the cows when I hear the frogs peeping
To my right I see the sun setting beneath barren trees
I gaze upon the changing grass wishing it would ‘pop’ up leaping
All living things seem quiet and peaceful in the fresh breeze
The sun has hidden its face and light is now a fade
Bugs squeal their natural voice declaring nighttime’s arrival
Homes are lightly dimmed as families gather to serenade
New born animals strive to endure survival
Daylight begins to last longer as the sun takes its time to hide
Picnics and campfires become a habit as the season changes
Life is new as the world produces a grand splendor far and wide
Warmth and beauty is all around the ranges
This is summer’s arrival.
Soli Deo Gloria
